Abstract

There is a number of powerful men who think they are right, simply because they have the privilege to be men. Their post as Kings or Dukes encourages them to disregard their wives, sweethearts, and sisters. These men condemn and punish women for their alleged infidelity. But, they themselves have the same weaknesses veritably, rather than fancifully. The paper selects utterances with common features from THE ARABIAN NIGHTS, OTHELLO, “Song: Go and Catch a Falling Star’’ and THE DUCHESS OF MALFI. Their utterances demonstrate that they are part and parcel of a recycled discourse.

Keywords: Marital infidelity, Universal theme, Human Nature, Male Dominantty.
